Gyms & wellness
A healthy vending machine built for a gym
A custom-branded machine dispensing low-carb and high-protein options to members, wrapped to look like part of the gym rather than an advert.

The challenge
What they needed
A standard snack machine in a fitness studio undercuts the thing members walked in for. But members still want something after training, and reception is not staffed for early-morning and late-evening sessions.
What we did
The approach
-
Agreed a planogram built around the audience: premium biltong and droëwors, nuts, low-sugar drinks, high-protein and low-carb options.
-
Wrapped the machine in judith fresh cafe branding so it read as part of the studio fit-out.
-
Fitted cashless payment — gym members rarely carry cash, and a 24-hour site is a poor place for a cash box.
The outcome
What came of it
- A vending offer that matches what members came in for rather than working against it.
- Revenue from training hours that reception does not cover.
- A template we now reuse for gyms and wellness spaces.
