A client beside a branded healthy-vending machine stocked with low-carb options

The challenge

What they needed

A standard snack machine in a fitness studio undercuts the thing members walked in for. But members still want something after training, and reception is not staffed for early-morning and late-evening sessions.

What we did

The approach

  1. Agreed a planogram built around the audience: premium biltong and droëwors, nuts, low-sugar drinks, high-protein and low-carb options.

  2. Wrapped the machine in judith fresh cafe branding so it read as part of the studio fit-out.

  3. Fitted cashless payment — gym members rarely carry cash, and a 24-hour site is a poor place for a cash box.

The outcome

What came of it

  • A vending offer that matches what members came in for rather than working against it.
  • Revenue from training hours that reception does not cover.
  • A template we now reuse for gyms and wellness spaces.
