The TygerCare Freshment Hub and Essentials Point machines at Tygerberg Hospital

The challenge

What they needed

A hospital never closes, but its shops do. Night-shift staff, patients between meals and families waiting through the night had no way to buy food, drink or basic essentials once the on-site retail shut.

What we did

The approach

  1. Installed a Freshment Hub carrying snacks and cold drinks in a high-traffic area.

  2. Added an Essentials Point stocked with washing powder, deodorant and toothbrushes — the things families staying over actually run out of and cannot leave to buy.

  3. Specified the higher-capacity Palma Hz87 so restocking is less frequent and less disruptive in a clinical environment.

  4. Structured the installation so that purchases support patient-care initiatives at the hospital.

The outcome

What came of it

  • Round-the-clock access to food, drink and essentials for patients, families and staff.
  • A vending installation that funds something beyond itself.
  • A repeatable model for other healthcare sites.
Lekker affordable goodies available the whole day and night!
